Closer is proud to announce that its new web series FUCKING ADELAIDE has been selected by Screen Australia and the ABC to receive production funding via the Long Story Short Program.
It means, along with four other great projects, Closer will be making a short form digital drama series for ABC iView.
"FUCKING ADELAIDE is a dramedy following self-confessed failure Eli and his annoyingly optimistic sister Kitty as they return home to their dysfunctional family in Adelaide, a place Eli said he’d only ever visit for Christmas and funerals."
The project will be directed by Sophie Hyde (52 TUESDAYS) and written by Matthew Cormack and Matt Vesely from a story by Sophie Hyde, Matthew Cormack and Bryan Mason. Bec Summerton will produce.
We'll be heading into production soon, and can't wait to get cracking on our first ever episodic drama series!
Also, we totally <3 Adelaide. We ARE ADELAIDE.
Australian fans! Get out to the cinemas now to see new documentary EMBRACE.
Closer's own Bryan Mason was one of the editors on this feature doc, directed by Body Image Activist Taryn Brumffit, and produced by Body Image Movement & Southern Light Alliance. It's a moving, joyous celebration of different bodies and different humans, and is taking the world by storm. It's been in cinemas since Aug 4 so won't last long - get out there this weekend and check it out!
When Body Image Activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo in 2013 it was seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. EMBRACE follows Taryn’s crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.
