Closer at Adelaide Film Festival 2017

Closer is proud to announce the premiere of both FUCKING ADELAIDE and BRUMLEY'S SUITCASE at the Adelaide Film Festival in 2017.

Commissioned by ABC and Screen Australia for their 'Long Story Short' initiative, FUCKING ADELAIDE is a six part television drama, directed by our own Sophie Hyde, produced by Sophie, Rebecca Summerton and Bryan Mason, and written by Matthew Cormack, with ep 4 written by Matt Vesely. You can catch it in full at the festival on Sunday 8th October at 5:45pm at the GU Film House - at a gala screening featuring cast and crew - by buying tickets right here.

SYNOPSIS: A comedy drama told from six different perspectives of a family who reunite in Adelaide when mum plans to sell the family home. Any sense of togetherness quickly crumbles to reveal how fucked and glorious it is to be home. Starring Pamela Rabe, Kate Box, Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Brendan Maclean.

BRUMLEY'S SUITCASE is a short documentary directed by Benjamin Dowie and produced by Christine Williams, and will be a part of the Art on Screen showcase on Tuesday 10th October at 6:45PM at the GU Film House, alongside REMEMBERING AGATHA and ODDLANDS. Tickets available here.

SYNOPSIS: In September 2016, three Adelaide-based musicians, who have grown up singing folk and blues from the American songbook, travelled to Austin, TX to collaborate on and perform some of legendary songwriter Albert E. Brumley's lost songs, only recently discovered in an old suitcase.

See you at the festival!
