The HUNT in Pre Production

Our upcoming 4 x one hour prime time TV series for SBS is being produced by Rebecca Summerton and created by Matthew Cormack and Sophie Hyde. THE HUNT deals thematically with the culture of everyday gendered behaviour and the result of this for Australian teenagers. Financing partners include SBS, Screen Australia, South Australian Film Corporation and DCD Media. For THE HUNT we have begun a new collaboration with writer Niki Aken who will write two of the four episodes, as well as our own Matthew Cormack. We’re very excited to get underway with this one!

Our Gif based web series The Book of Darryl - a collab with infamous Gif artist Scorpion Dagger and Webby Award winning team The Goggles  - has gotten a book deal. We can't reveal too much just yet - needless to say the series, co-directed by Closer's Matthew Bate and Produced by Rebecca Summerton will be coming out online in mid 2019, with the Augmented Reality hard back book following in September! Amazing. More info and announcements to come.

2019 is going to be a big year for Closer. We’re thrilled to announce that Animals has been selected for the 2019 edition of Sundance film festival!

Animals, the second feature drama from Director Sophie Hyde, shot and edited by Closer's Bryan Mason and starring Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat, will premiere in the Premieres Category.

This marks Closer’s 5th project to premiere at Sundance, after 2018 saw Matt Bate’s VR project Summation of Force show in the innovative New Frontier category.

Animals is a fierce and unapologetic celebration of female friendship. An intimate, funny and bittersweet examination of the challenges of turning talent into action, and being a modern woman with faults, longings and competing desires.
