Our brand new web series VIDEO NASTY will have it's world premiere on 22nd October at the Adelaide Film Festival. VIDEO NASTY follows Adelaide's own splatter punk king Dick Dale as he makes his first feature film, Ribspreader.
Directed by Matthew Bate (Shut Up, Little Man!) and Liam Somerville, it's a six-part love letter to trash, friendship, and filmmaking. We're thrilled to share this with our home town and all the makers and creatives involved.

Closer Productions in conjunction with the Adelaide Film Festival are excited to announce we are offering 4x $5000 grants for people from underrepresented backgrounds and communities.
This small seed grants initiative was developed as a direct acknowledgment of – and attempt to challenge – the ways in which sexism, racism and disadvantage are real barriers to more adventurous and diverse filmmakers breaking into the industry. These grants are aimed at giving creatives space to develop ideas that might otherwise be hard to finance.
Who is eligible? Writers, directors, documentary makers, who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQ+ and gender diverse people, Deaf and disabled people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
What projects? The project can be in any genre or format and at any stage, though we are specifically hoping to give time and space to people to create something that excites them, that is daring and original and that they wouldn’t normally have the time and space to pursue.
Head to https://adelaidefilmfestival.org/opportunities/ for all the details.
We want to hear what you’ve got to say.
