5x MICROGRANTS RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Closer Productions and the Adelaide Film Festival Micro-Grants for Diverse Voices has today announced its successful applicants.

Due to the enormous response from creatives across the country and the calibre of the applicants, Closer Productions and AFF are pleased to announce they will be providing five x $5000 grants, increasing the funding pool from the original four grants on offer.

The five successful applicants and their projects are: Llewellyn Michael Bates for Laughter Club, Ghenoa Gela for ON BLAK: INSIDE OUT, Noora Niasari for Oxytocin, Nelya Valamanesh for Rules to being a Fuckgurl , Alex Wu for Idol.

Applicants were chosen by the judging panel on the strength of their voice and previous work, the clarity of their vision and their articulation of how this grant would help them to develop their creative ideas.

Sophie Hyde from Closer Productions said: “Faced with such a large pool of applications of such high calibre, the selection committee recommended 5 people rather than 4. We are so thrilled to be able to support these artists in the development of their work and their voices and look forward to seeing what each of them creates during this time and in the future.”
