Summation of Force - a virtual reality film collaboration between Closer's Matthew Bate and photographers Narelle Aution and Trent Parke has been selected for the 2018 Sundance New Frontier. Sundance describes New Frontier as "offering some of the most innovative independent production and experimentation at the crossroads of film, art and technology that is being created today"

Made in conjunction with Jumpgate VR the project is a moving image artwork rendered in the virtual space. Produced by Anton Andreacchio, Rebecca Summerton and Katrina Lucas this will be the fourth project Closer has taken to Sundance in 5 years after the success of Shut Up Little Man (2011), 52 Tuesdays (2013) and Sam Klemke's Time Machine (2015).

Synopsis: In a moonlit suburban yard, two brothers battle one another in a mythic game of cricket. A study of the motion, physics and psychology of elite sport; a cosmic, dreamlike and darkly beautiful metaphor for life.
