Acclaimed Australian director Sophie Hyde features in a 2026 Australian Story episode, "[Out in the Open]," which explores her life, including her father coming out as gay and her journey as a parent to a non-binary child. She is releasing an autobiographical film, Jimpa, starring Olivia Colman and John Lithgow, based on her childhood.
